The government’s measures to protect against the new omicron Covid variant come into force today, with face masks becoming mandatory once again in England’s shops and settings such as post offices, hairdressers and public transport.

As of today, The Lemore Estate will follow suit for both team and guests whilst passing through public spaces. Face masks are mandatory unless guests are in their private accommodation or dining.

All travellers returning to the UK will also be required to take a PCR test, and self-isolate until they receive a negative result.

There are confirmed cases of Omicron in the UK - five in England and nine in Scotland - after new cases were found in London, Lanarkshire and Glasgow this morning, according to the UK Health Security Agency.

Anyone who believes they might be a contact of one of these people is being told to self-isolate immediately, regardless of their age or vaccination status.
